Design

The design team at Breville have done a stellar job with this citrus press. The machine is housed in high-grade stainless steel for outstanding durability and exquisite looks. If you have a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances then this machine will blend in perfectly.

The power cord is a bit too short for our liking, but this can be extended with an extension lead if you don’t have a power outlet nearby.

Easy Assembly / Clean-up

We’re pleased to see that the Breville 800CPXL is a piece of cake to assemble. With just 3 parts needed to be put together, it can be assembled in less than a minute even from a juicing novice.

Clean-up is also a quick task, taking just a couple of minutes. Just simply remove the cone, strainer basket and bowl from the base then rinse them under warm water and give the strainer basket a good scrub with a brush then leave the parts to dry.

Active-Arm Press

The active-arm press system utilizes built-in sensors which cleverly monitor the arms position so the cone only spins when it contacts the fruit. The spherical dome perfectly centres the fruit on the cone to ensure you get a consistently high level of extraction from every fruit you juice.

The high height of the handle makes it too high to store under most kitchen cabinets. We would like Breville to incorporate a handle lock down feature in their next model.

Another lacuna is that the bowl which stores the juice is rather small so it has to be emptied out around every dozen fruits.
